Affordable Acupuncture Treatment Option

In order to provide effective and affordable acupuncture treatments to the New Orleans community, Acupuncture Wellness Center offers community style acupuncture on Saturdays.

Once our practitioners complete comprehensive medical history intake and establish treatment plan for each patient in private initial visit*, patients have the option to continue with private acupuncture treatments on our regular clinic hours, including Saturdays, or to receive community style treatments on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm. Community acupuncture treatments are average 30 minute treatments, including a brief intake and an acupuncture treatment with a cost of $40**.

Our regular acupuncture treatments include comprehensive follow up intakes, energy work, a wider selection of points (often involves changing of body positions) and other techniques such as cupping, massage, moxibustion and Gua Sha when applicable. Community Acupuncture treatments are simply acupuncture. After a brief consultation, patients will receive acupuncture treatments focused on chief complaint(s). Acupuncture needles will be placed primarily on the arms, legs, face and head.

Patients may need to share the treatment room with other patients in the community clinic. This will allow us to see more patients in limited time and to provide the individual patients with maximum amount of time needed for the healing process. The group setting has benefits beyond just affordability. It is easy for friends and family members to come in for treatment together; many patients find it comforting; and a collective energetic field becomes established, which actually makes individual treatments more powerful.

Community acupuncture allows patients to receuve affordable treatments when regular acupuncture treatments are not financially workable or to supplement existing treatments at a more affordable rate. Our practitioners try our best to provide the most effective acupuncture treatments within the least amount of treatments. However, many conditions require multiple acupuncture treatments, sometimes more than one treatment weekly. Community acupuncture allows patients to get more acupuncture treatments to improve their conditions with less financial concerns.

* The first visit for community clinic is $95 for a comprehensive medical history intake and an acupuncture treatment, which may take longer than an hour.

Treatment Tips

Wear comfortable clothes that allow access to areas below the elbows and knees.
Have a light meal about an hour before your treatment.
Refrain from wearing any perfumes or scented oils within the clinic. Many patients are very sensitive to fragrances.
Keep in mind that there may be other people in the treatment room. Please turn your phones off when entering the clinic and be respectful of those around you who have come to the treatment to relax as you have.
If possible, set aside time after your treatment to rest.
